[Korean Academy of Engineering, Next-Generation Engineering Leader YEHS Membership Recruitment Announcement]

The College of Engineering at Sogang University is recruiting students to participate in the Young Engineers Honor Society (YEHS), a subgroup of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK).
 
The National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK) is an organization established to discover and reward engineers who have made significant contributions to technological development in academia, industry, and national institutions, and to contribute to the creative development and continuous growth of engineering technology in the country through academic research and support projects related to engineering technology.
 
The NAEK Forum is a forum that aims to discuss and share industrial technology policies, engineering education, and industrial development strategies by inviting CEOs, policymakers, and top experts in each field as speakers and panelists, along with NAEK members and heads of industrial technology-related organizations.
 
The NAEK Forum invites leader-level students to instill pride as engineers, and undergraduate students from the College of Engineering are invited to participate. For the 285th NAEK Forum in May, two Sogang University undergraduate students will be invited to attend after passing a document screening and interview, and obtaining approval from the Dean of the College of Engineering.
 
The selected students must participate in the NAEK Forum and YEHS new member orientation training (OT) scheduled for May 18th (Monday) at 17:00.
In addition, the students recommended in this way will join the Young Engineers Honor Society (YEHS), a subgroup of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea.
 
YEHS is an organization established by college students from various universities to activate exchanges among about 2,000 engineering students from different schools and to build a nationwide network of engineering students in the long term. Its main activities include seminars, junior engineering classes, high school visits, leadership lectures, and industrial visits.

Application and Selection Overview

■ Application period: April 15, 2026 (Wednesday) - April 29, 2026 (Wednesday) (by 23:59 on the 29th)
■ Participation method: Email application (submit the attached application form to wongyu.lee@yehs.or.kr, file name: department_student number_name)
■ Eligibility:
1. Undergraduate students in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Department of Electronic Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of System Semiconductor Engineering, and Department of Semiconductor Engineering (1st-3rd year)
2. Overall GPA (CGPA) 3.3 / 4.5 (3.0 / 4.3) or higher
3. Students who can participate in the NAEK Next-Generation Engineering Leader activity for more than one year
4. Students who can attend the NAEK Forum and YEHS OT on May 18th (Monday) at 17:00
