The Department of Electronic Engineering covers semiconductor engineering and design, CAD and integrated circuit design, computer architecture, microwave circuits, wired and wireless communication systems, the Internet and high-speed networks, signal and image processing, multimedia and computer vision, robotics and medical electronics.
In addition to these specialized fields, undergraduates learn the fundamental theory and applied technologies of electronic engineering and build skills in both software and hardware design. IT built on electronic engineering is a core axis of IT–BT–NT convergence, widely seen as a key technology of the future. The electronics industry—technology-intensive and high value-added—is Korea’s most advanced industry and a driving force of the national economy, offering endless new challenges and opportunities.
