“Where the innovators of the AI-semiconductor era begin”

Amid a rapidly changing global semiconductor industry, the Department of Semiconductor Engineering is opening a new paradigm of education and research centered on next-generation AI semiconductors.

Through full-spectrum semiconductor education—from process and devices to design, systems and AI applications—we educate engineers with convergent skills that span the entire semiconductor life cycle. Close partnerships with companies and research institutes provide hands-on experience, preparing creative leaders who will contribute to national and global industry.

Research Areas

The department educates forward-looking engineers with both the theory and the practical skills needed to develop AI semiconductors. Key areas include:

  • AI semiconductor devices and processes — next-generation semiconductor technologies based on new materials and devices
  • IC design and architecture — high-performance, low-power integrated circuits and system architecture
  • AI semiconductor software — algorithms and application software for hardware optimization
