Fall 2026 Call for Scholarship Students: Sogang–Samsung Electronics DS Semiconductor Track (until Sep 2, 1 p.m.)
1. About the Samsung Semiconductor Track Program
- The program recruits outstanding students in semiconductors (design, processes and devices, and software) during the agreement period to develop semiconductor specialists for the Samsung Electronics Device Solutions (DS) Division.
(From the first semester of 2027, the program is scheduled to become a master’s track that selects master’s students only.)
- Selected scholarship students must join the Samsung Electronics Device Solutions (DS) Division. Students who continue to a higher degree may be co-supervised on their thesis by a qualified Samsung Electronics researcher in addition to their academic advisor, through close industry–academia collaboration between research areas.
2. Eligibility
- First majors in Electronic Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Chemistry (including double majors whose first major is one of these seven departments); undergraduates in their 6th semester or later and master’s students in their 1st semester or later (students on leave may apply after returning)
* Double majors must have one of the seven departments above as their first major.
* Undergraduates with double majors within the seven departments may choose which department’s coursework to use, and must meet that department’s required and elective course conditions when applying.
* Students in the final semester of a bachelor’s or master’s program should, as a rule, apply through regular open recruitment.
Both of the following grade requirements must be met:
- Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.0/4.3 or higher
- GPA of 3.0/4.3 or higher in Track required and elective courses
* Master’s students (1st semester or later) in the seven departments, including those in labs taking part in strategic or new industry–academia projects (including research-grant projects), must meet the required and elective course conditions of their department’s undergraduate program.
- Completion of at least 7 required courses of the Track curriculum for the application semester (including courses in progress)
- Not counting the current semester, applicants must have no more than two semesters left before graduation at the time of selection.
* Deferred graduation (leave of absence): as a rule, the university does not allow selected Samsung Semiconductor Track scholarship students to defer graduation (including leaves of absence) beyond the expected graduation date stated in their application.
- Scholarship students of other industry–academia track programs run by the Department of Electronic Engineering may not apply at the same time.
- For details, see Research › Industry Programs on the Department of Electronic Engineering website (https://ee.sogang.ac.kr/kor/research/program.php).
