Sogang University's Graduate School of Technology and Innovation Management, 'Data Economy and Innovation Research Institute', is seeking a research assistant to help with building big data pipelines related to academic, patent, and corporate matters, as well as collaboration projects with Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management, and OECD.
1. Number of openings: 00
2. Qualification requirements: 00 undergraduate or graduate school students (available to work for more than 6 months),
00 doctoral program students (ABD) or doctoral degree holders (available to work for more than 12 months)
3. Compensation and working conditions:
① Undergraduate or master's students: KRW 500,000 per month (additional payment possible based on ability), no restrictions on workplace
② Ph.D. students or Ph.D. holders: KRW 2,000,000 per month (additional payment possible based on ability), must be able to lead undergraduate and master's student assistants and participate in lab management
4. Responsibilities : under the guidance of Professor Sungwook Moon and Ph.D.s of the graduate school of technology and management, perform assigned tasks
① Large-scale data extraction, pre-processing, and automation of data processing using major Database APIs
② Assist in planning database schema and indexing work according to research project purposes
③ Extract and process variables necessary for research, create related tables, etc.
④ In addition to the above tasks, assist with data analysis, model estimation and testing, and research laboratory operation (Ph.D.)
5. Required Competencies
① Serious interest in the data economy and preference for diligent and responsible students
② Interest and experience in data collection, processing, and utilization (e.g., automation of scientific research, policy research, etc.)
③ Experience or interest in working with ML/LLM
④ Experience with Python, NLP libraries (such as spaCy), SQL, and statistical packages (Stata/R)
⑤ Experience with collaboration tools (Notion/Git/GitHub)
⑥ Ability to communicate smoothly with the research team
